It has been said that the only thing that remains constant is death and taxes. Well although I don’t have a lot to say about taxes, I do have something to say about death. One of the most famous Bible verses about death is found in the book of Psalms. In Psalms 23 and verse 4 it says “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.” This is a wonderful promise from our Lord.
We cannot avoid death, and every one of us will both face death personally, and experience the grief that comes with the loss of a loved one. This promise that God will walk beside us is extremely comforting. Even though we may feel alone, we do not have to be alone. He will be there if we ask. So when you are faced with death, or you are hurting because you have lost a loved one, remember to ask the Lord to be there. He will keep His promise.
